During Christmas of last year, we had a conversation with a person who uses a wheelchair here in Brookings, Oregon.

Our conversation went something like this:

"How long have you lived in Brookings?"

"About 24 years."

"Wow!  Well, today is beautiful outside, you should go down to the beach!"

"Yes.  I would love to, Unfortunately, my wheelchair won't work on the sand."

"When is the last time you've been on the beach?"

""It's been 17 years."

Well, that was not okay with us. 

So, we are going to change that.

Our beach wheelchairs and beach walkers may be used at the following locations:

Harris Beach

Crissey Field

Sporthaven Beach (seasonal)

We hope, through our advocacy, to see future improvements made to our other local beaches so that they are accessible to everyone.

We will contact you prior to your reservation day to coordinate equipment drop off and pick up.
